How do you see yourself five years from now? Or, maybe ten? Chances are, you don’t see yourself disabled. But a surprising number of people do find themselves hurt or sick and unable to work — even if only for a short time. Would a month seem like a short time if you had no income? The Locke Lord disability plans work together to help you pay your household expenses if you become disabled and cannot work. These disability plans are:
- State-Mandated Disability
- Firm Paid Short Term Disability
SHORT TERM DISABILITY
Sometimes, your illness or injury keeps you away from work for more than just a few days. In those instances, your state-mandated Disability or Firm Paid Short Term Disability (STD) Plan covers you.
When Are You Disabled?
You don’t have to be bed-ridden to be considered disabled. However, you do have to be under a doctor’s care. You are considered disabled if you are sick or injured and are unable to perform your duties at Locke Lord.
IF YOU LIVE IN NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY, RHODE ISLAND OR CALIFORNIA New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and California have a state-mandated disability plan.
