Locke Lord provides back-up child and adult/elder care placement services through Bright Horizons, when your regular care arrangement cannot cover your work time. The service will place a provider in your home and is available 7 days a week, excluding New Years Eve. You also have the option of center-based back-up child care at nearly 300 Bright Horizons full-time child care centers and over 1,000 extended network carriers.
The cost for this service is $6.00 per hour, plus provider transportation costs (public transportation or per mile rate) for in-home child or in-home adult/elder backup care. The rate is $15/child/day with a $25 family/visit/maxium for in-center backup childcare. A four-hour minimum is required for both care services. Your credit card will be charged the subsidized cost once care is complete and the hours/days have been confirmed. You may use this service up to 10 days per calendar year (Jan 1 – Dec 31). You are welcome to use the backup services when your need is not work-related, paying the full rate for care. If you need more than the 10 placements during the year, you will be charged the full hourly cost of care.
Bright Horizons Customer Care Consultants are available 24/7/365 to help you choose what option is best for your needs and to help you through the registration and reservation process. Sometimes Bright Horizons can locate a caregiver for you within an hour or two, but the more time you give them, the more likely they can make a successful match. Twenty-four hour advance notice is usually sufficient.
